“Google Web Vitals” pielietojums un izpēte

2020. gada novembrī uzņēmums “Google” paziņoja, ka pievienos papildus faktoru savam tīmekļu lapas meklētāj servisa lapu ranžēšanās algoritmam – (GCWV) Google Core Web Vitals testa rezultātus. Testa būtība ir veikt novērojumus par jebkuras tīmekļa lapas veiktspēju un idejiski meklētāj servisā kārtot lapas augstāk ar labāku veiktspēju. Darbā tiek apskatītas Google Core Web Vitals testa metrikas un citas populāras tīmekļa veiktspējas metrikas, to ietekmējošie faktori un biežāk veiktie optimizācijas darbi. Praktiskajā daļā tika veikti optimizācijas darbi autora veidotai tīmekļa lapai. Rezultātā tika gūts metriku rezultātu uzlabojums par 60%. Darbu noslēdz rezultātu un secinājumu nodaļas.
Aggregation of the web performance of internal university units as a method of quantitative analysis of a university system: The case of Spain

The aggregation of web performance (page count and visibility) of internal university units could constitute a more precise indicator than the overall web performance of the universities and, therefore, be of use in the design of university web rankings. In order to test this hypothesis, a longitudinal analysis of the internal units of the Spanish university system was conducted over the course of 2010. For the 13800 URLs identified, page count and visibility was calculated using the Yahoo API. Despite the wide and intensive research efforts focused on Web prediction and prefetching techniques aimed to reduce user's perceived latency, few attempts to implement and use them in real environments have been done, mainly due to their complexity and supposed limitations that low user available bandwidths imposed few years ago. Nevertheless, current user bandwidths open a new scenario for prefetching that becomes again an interesting option to improve web performance.
